Reinforcing Mesh

Reinforcing mesh is a welded wire fabric, prefabricated steel reinforcement material. It has a rectangular or square grid pattern and is produced in flat sheets. It is used to provide tensile strength and crack control to structural concrete elements.

Sheet sizes are usually 6.0mx2400mm and made to standards which allow various suppliers material to be interchanged. “RL” is often used for rectangular ligature in sheet size while “SL” is often used to nominate square ligature in sheet sizes. The "R" stands for roll.

 

Trench Mesh

Trench Mesh is normally supplied 6m long and typically consists of three to four wires held together at pre-determined intervals. Common uses for Trench Mesh include rock walls, brick walls and house footings. An example is L8TM3 - "8" being the wire thickness, "TM" for Trench Mesh and "3" for three wires.

 

Reinforcing Steel

Can consist of plain, round or ribbed reinforcing steel depending on the application. Metalcorp can supply a full range of reinforcing bar products, sourcing reinforcing fabric and bar products from ACRS accredited suppliers (see ACRS for further details), ensuring you have access to the best material made to Australian Standards.

Reinforcing Steel - Plain Round Bars

Reinforcing Steel can be a simple round low carbon section for use in simple reinforcing construction. Commonly used to manufacture ligatures used to separate top and bottom layers of mesh in concrete slabs, or as dowel bars for joining concrete sections in pavement. An example would be R10 or R12.

Reinforcing Steel - Deformed Bars

Deformed bar is used where extra reinforcing is required to fabric sheets or trench mesh. A typical length would be called Y12 or Y16 or DB for deformed bars. Lengths can range from 6m to 9m and longer on application.

Reinforcing Steel - Deformed Bars

Specifically produced for use in domestic swimming pool construction, where manipulability to bend and shape is needed. An example would be S10 or S12.

Accessories

Reinforcing Accessories are the components required to finish off your concrete construction. Accessories include Bar Chairs and Polythene Film.

Bar Chairs, may be a simple plastic component or a plastic tipped wire frame component, designed to position reinforcing fabric and bars within the concrete slab of various thicknesses.

Polythene Film, which provides a moisture and vapour barrier for use on slabs in ground constructions.

 

Galvanised Mesh

Includes galvanised wire, mesh rolls and sheepyard mesh

Galvanised Mesh - Industrial Mesh - Galvanised Wire

Industrial mesh and wire required for security and safety. These industrial meshes will cover such areas as safety mesh, mine mesh, tractor canopy mesh.

Galvanised Mesh - General Purpose Galvanised Mesh Rolls

As the name suggests a range of meshes available in a convenient roll form. General Purpose Mesh covers areas such as garden mesh, trellis mesh, and light weight security.

Galvanised Mesh - Sheepyard Mesh

Purpose made mesh with sheep safety in mind. Mesh used for yarding, sorting prior to shearing and slaughtering. Designed to minimise any injury to sheep and lambs.
